Climate Change is Changing the Attitude toward Water
This year's, the fourth in a row Conference on water treatment, preparation, purification and protection, water supply and sewage, Water on the Palm of a Hand, held on 9 April at the Antunović Congress Centre, brought together leading experts in the field, as well as everyone else who is in any way connected with water.
A series of interesting presentations warned of climate challenges that are greatly reducing the availability of water and the danger of legionella. The importance of systematic monitoring of water resources was also emphasized. Advanced solutions for flow measurement and monitoring of all water processes were also presented, as well as for efficient and fast maintenance and servicing of water supply network elements. Several interesting projects that are currently being implemented in Croatia were also presented, such as a new water treatment plant at the source of the Jadro near Split or the introduction of artificial intelligence in water supply and sewage. The possibilities of managing extreme seasonal water consumption in Istria and solving the problem of abandoned water sources were also discussed. It is also shown what is possible with plant wastewater purifiers and the potential of new materials that provide clean water.
After all, as was pointed out at the very beginning of the Conference, only by exchanging ideas is it possible to create the future.
